What Embed Your Pet stores, and what it does not.

Information we collect and why
- Widget exports: artwork uploaded only to generate a widget is processed for that request, including temporary upload files. We do not save it to the community gallery unless you choose to save a draft or share a pet.
- Accounts: we store your name, handle, email address, hashed password and profile information to provide sign-in, profiles and password recovery.
- Saved and shared pets: we store artwork, descriptions, tags, animation settings and remix relationships. Published pets and your public profile are visible to other visitors. Draft listings and uploaded draft artwork are restricted to their owner. Uploaded artwork becomes available to visitors when you publish, and new access is restricted again when you unpublish. Copies already downloaded cannot be recalled.
- Community activity: likes, follows and collections support gallery features.
- Technical information: our server and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, request information and error logs to deliver the service, protect it and investigate failures.
Cookies and browser storage
We use session and security cookies for sign-in and form protection, and a remember-me cookie when applicable. Browser session storage remembers animation preferences and the selected demo pet. Clearing browser data resets these preferences and may sign you out.
Analytics
We use self-hosted Umami to measure visits, builder activity, animation previews and download outcomes. Our tracking limits page paths and event values; it does not send account details, uploaded artwork, filenames, search text or password-reset tokens. The analytics service also processes connection and browser information needed to measure visits. Analytics is excluded from account, password-reset and private editing pages.
Service providers
Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the website. SendGrid handles transactional email, such as password-reset messages. Google Fonts serves the website fonts. These providers receive information needed to deliver their services, such as connection information or the email destination. Umami is hosted on our own infrastructure. Our application backups stay on our in-house infrastructure; we do not use R2 for them.
Exported pets
The exported widget includes your artwork and runs on the website where you install it. It does not include our analytics tracker or automatically contact Embed Your Pet. If you connect the optional message API to your own endpoint, that endpoint's data handling is your responsibility. Codex pet downloads are separate files used in the Codex app, which has its own privacy terms.
Retention, removal and your choices
Account and saved-pet data remain while needed to provide the service. You can update your profile in Settings, unpublish a listing, or delete a pet from Your pets. Copies may remain in backups, visitor downloads or independently created remixes. Backups currently do not have an automated deletion period, so deleting live data does not immediately remove every recovery copy.
For an account deletion, access, correction or other privacy request, email [email protected] from the account address. We may ask for information to verify ownership. Rights and available remedies depend on the laws that apply to you.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our data handling changes. Contact True Web Assets at [email protected] with questions.
