Spritesheets
The grid layout the builder expects and how to prepare one.
The default layout
The builder's defaults expect a sheet 8 columns wide with cells of 192 × 208 pixels, one move per row:
row 0 idle 6 frames
row 1 run right 8 frames
row 2 run left 8 frames
row 3 wave 4 frames
row 4 jump 5 frames
row 5 failed 8 frames
row 6 hover 6 frames
row 7 running 6 frames
row 8 review 6 frames
row 9+ optional extra rows
The handmade pets in the gallery use an 8 × 11 sheet (1536 × 2288 pixels). Remix one to see a working example.
Codex pet sheets
Codex pet spritesheets use the same 192 × 208 cells in an 8 × 9 grid, with the same row order, so they work with the default mapping. Upload the spritesheet.webp from a Codex pet and press Auto-detect.
Tips
- Keep the character's feet on the same baseline in every frame so it does not bob.
- Use a transparent background.
- Empty cells at the end of a row are fine: set that move's frame count to the cells you used.
